Emergency Rental Assistance Program checks delayed

Post Date:06/20/2024 4:00 PM

Doña Ana County is in the process of completing the fiscal year-end closing June 30, and concurrently transitioning to a new financial management system. As a result, payments for participants, both applicants and landlords to the Emergency Rental Assistance Program will be delayed until July 12.

Weekly assistance checks that would normally be disbursed will be processed on Friday, July 12. Residents can expect to begin receiving them shortly thereafter.

Eligible applicants may check on their application’s status by calling ERAP staff at 575-525-5898.

Applications are still being accepted for the program and the approval process will continue to run smoothly and without any interruption. Eligible applicants will be approved until funds are exhausted.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and would like to thank you for understanding," Emergency Rental Assistance Program manager Mary Trail said. “We are working diligently to ensure the minimum impact on households who need it.”
